Split Rock Outdoors is a small paddling community based in Southern Ontario, Canada, focused on whitewater canoe tripping (we also let a kayaker come along 😄). January 2025 | We're heading to the inaugural Hamilton Adventure Expo on January 25th (No, not as a vendor—we're a tiny paddling-club). Apparently this show is an attempt to offer a trade show for outdoors folk that resists the temptation to give in to tourism companies and jewelry makers. Not that there's anything wrong with those, just not what we're looking for at an outdoor adventure trade show.
December 2024 | We've been more than impressed with The Organic Boat Shop over this past year. We've now bought three boats from them so far and we are incredibly happy with their friendly service. Beyond selling boats, they also have a great selection in their online store, offer paddling courses, and guided trips. We're also looking forward to popping by their booth at the new Hamilton Adventure Expo.Â

Looking to learn how to whitewater paddle? This is our extensive whitewater tripping learning section that provides the pre-learning you'll need before jumping into a whitewater trip. This isn't all you need, but it's a great first step. This isn't available in print—it's just a free online resource developed by Split Rock Outdoors.

After some of our larger trips we try to put together simple videos about the trip. They tend to be mostly just us running whitewater, and mostly only us watching them, but they're here if you want to have a look.
